Jobs of the future
Interesting ResumeBuilder study from November 2023, focusing on the impact of AI on employment. The survey included 750 business leaders from companies that are using or plan to use AI in 2024. Key findings were:
53% of companies are currently using AI, and 24% plan to start in 2024.
37% of companies using AI report replacing employees with AI in 2023.
44% predict AI will lead to layoffs in 2024.
96% of companies hiring in 2024 value AI skills in candidates.
83% believe AI skills can help employees keep their jobs.
The main applications of AI are customer support, research and creating meeting or document summaries.
The survey reveals a significant trend toward integrating AI into workplaces, with a growing emphasis on AI skills for job security. Julia Toothacre, career strategist at ResumeBuilder, advises employees to adapt and develop skills complementary to AI to remain relevant in their fields.
So what, now everyone has to be an AI expert to have a job? Isn't that an exaggeration?
Copilot lies
Copilot from Microsoft is having quite a bit of trouble providing accurate information about federal elections in Switzerland and state elections in Hesse and Bavaria. The chatbot's responses were analyzed for two months, focusing on election dates, candidates and polls. The results were disturbing: one-third of the responses contained errors including incorrect election dates and incorrect candidates. The chatbot often gave evasive answers. These inaccuracies pose reputational risks for candidates and the media, especially when Bing Chat attributes false information to real sources. Despite reporting these problems to Microsoft, little has improved.
It seems that even the most advanced AI models have their limitations, reminding us that they are still far from perfect.
AI Music
Microsoft and Suno are revolutionizing the world of music by making it possible to create songs using AI. With just a few clicks in Microsoft Edge, you can create your own unique song, even without musical skills. Now everyone has the chance to become a composer.
Could this be another way for computers to replace human talent?
Programming
ScreenshotToCode is an application that transforms screenshots into code (HTML/Tailwind CSS, React, Vue, Bootstrap), using GPT-4 Vision for code generation and DALL-E 3 for image creation. Allows cloning of live sites via URL.
Arch is a platform that facilitates integration of customer data into code. It provides instant access to customer data, eliminating the need to create custom OAuth flows and API integrations.
AI Noodl is a platform that uses LLM technology to automatically create applications using a visual user interface. It enables rapid development of complex enterprise applications without programming.
