AI recognizes type 2 diabetes based on voice

Studies show that AI can diagnose type 2 diabetes in patients within 6-10 seconds by listening to their voice. Canadian medical researchers trained AI to identify 14 vocal differences in patients with type 2 diabetes, focusing on subtle changes in pitch and intensity that are indistinguishable to the human ear. This was combined with primary health data to increase diagnosis accuracy. The AI model aims to reduce diagnosis costs and enable remote and automated diagnoses, moving away from traditional in-person diagnostic tests. AI has shown higher accuracy in diagnosing women compared to men.

Well, I don't know... Voice analysis may be disturbed by noise or recording quality. A simple cold or emotions may influence the diagnosis, and differences in voice may also result from causes other than diabetes. So, at this point, it would be good to confirm the results using traditional diagnostic methods.

Giants manipulate AI risk to eliminate competition

Google Brain co-founder Andrew Ng expressed concern that big tech companies are exaggerating the risks of AI, such as leading to human extinction, in order to manipulate the market and eliminate competition, especially from the open-source community. He emphasized the need for thoughtful regulation rather than restrictive policies that can stifle innovation. This manipulation is done in the hope of triggering strict regulations that will harm open source solutions.

Andrew nails it! Large corporations expose threats, influencing the creation of regulations that favor them at the expense of smaller players. Let's support innovation!

Will AI revive the spirit of the Beatles?

"Now and Then", the last Beatles song created thanks to AI, will soon have its premiere. Originally recorded by the late George Harrison and John Lennon, the song features contributions from all four members of the Beatles. Even though there were technical problems and differences among the band members regarding its release in the 1990s, the use of artificial intelligence made it possible to technologically update and complete the song. The cover art for the release was created by Ed Ruscha, and the project is described as emotionally significant for surviving band members Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, as well as for Beatles fans themselves.

But with such an abundance of new songs on the music scene, do we really need more, especially from artists whose glory has long since faded?
