Meta creates AGI

Mark Zuckerberg announced on Instagram Reels an ambitious plan to create open-source artificial general intelligence (AGI). Meta plans to integrate and develop its AI research groups FAIR and GenAI. The company is also focusing on training LLaMA3, its new open-sourced LLM, and building a computing infrastructure using 350,000 expensive GPU chips from Nvidia. Zuckerberg predicts that by 2030, people will often use smart glasses to communicate with AI, which could ignite a rivalry with Apple and their upcoming Vision Pro headset.

Zuckerberg is announcing open-source AGI with the same enthusiasm with which he sent us into the Metaverse. Maybe it will work this time.
